Hi, I’m Jill, the creator of Roll With Designs.
My connection to the disability community began when I was 15 years old, after I survived being hit by a pickup truck as a pedestrian. During my rehabilitation at Children’s Specialized Hospital, my mom and I decided to volunteer there, and that's how we met a little baby who later become my adopted sister, Jasmine.
That experience changed the course of my life in more ways than one. Although I recovered from many of the serious injuries I sustained in the accident, I have continued to live with chronic pain for more than two decades. At the same time, growing up alongside Jasmine and being part of her life has given me an even deeper connection to the disability community.
Both my own experiences and my life with Jasmine have shaped the way I see disability, individuality, strength, and inclusion.
Why I Created Roll With Designs
Roll With Designs grew from those experiences and from a simple belief:
Disability can be an important part of who someone is without being the only thing that defines them.
I wanted to create apparel that celebrates disability pride and self-expression at the same time.
That's where the idea behind Roll With Designs came from. The wheelchair symbol represents disability pride, while the designs within the wheel give people a way to show something else about themselves—the things they love, the things that interest them, and the things that make them them.
Whether that's sports, music, animals, hobbies, holidays, gaming, or something completely different, the wheel becomes a place to show a little piece of you.
Because disability is one part of someone's story— not the whole story. 💜
So... what do YOU roll with? ♿
